As a former engineering student, I found my purpose in solving problems and serving others. What started as a middle school hobby and a fun way to complete school projects, design quickly became a skill I wanted to cultivate outside of the academic setting.
Today, I leverage my Marketing education and years of design experience to help brands and businesses with content creation, community engagement, and so much more.
STARTED FROM THE BOTTOM,
In 2010, at the height of blockbuster movies such as Twilight and The Hunger Games, a wide-eyed middle schooler taught herself video editing and graphic design. My love for the entertainment industry combined with my passion for learning all things tech eventually led to web design (and a fansite that made it onto Lionsgate's PR list).
For the five years that followed, I continued to create gifs and graphics in my spare time, but that steadily became few and far between as I pursued other activities and subjects in high school.
In the summer of 2015, I set off for Atlanta, GA to study Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech. Though I've always loved math and science, while I was there I found myself gravitating towards marketing and management positions.
By late 2016, it was clear that my heart and head was set on something else. For the sake of my mental health, I made the difficult decision to leave school. After a time of self-discovery, I realized that I could use my creative skills to help people all over the world and started a remote design business in September 2017.
NOW WE HERE.
For the year that followed, I was challenged intellectually, creatively, and emotionally as I ventured into entrepreneurship while I went back to school.
In January 2019, after receiving my Associate's degree in Business Administration, I decided to pursue additional ventures and made it a goal to blog more regularly in order to document my entrepreneurial journey (while continuing to pursue higher education at Rutgers Business School).
This account will be real, authentic, and as unfiltered as polite company will allow. It will be meme-y (messy) and filled with pop culture references (and whatever happens to inspire me at the time).
My goal in building this platform and sharing my story is to encourage other young entrepreneurs to pursue their passions despite what obstacles may stand in their way.
Now, go forth and do more of what sets your soul on fire, friend!
