You probably hear, see, and admit it- also use this all the time. But do we really mean it? And what can we all do to be more intentional with our connection requests and make the most out of the remote work/learning environment?

In the past year, I realized the sheer amount of time we spend having shallow conversations and maintaining surface-level relationships. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love the spontaneous we-passed-each-other-in-the-hallway talk, the casual (sometimes awkward) exchange you have with another person on the Double E - one of the Rutgers buses for those that don’t know, and the chatter of students prior to the start of class. But through social distancing, COVID has forced all of us to be more selective in what or who we invest our time in.

Networking and professional relationships should not be any different.

Major League Hacking’s LHD: Build | My “No Code” Hackathon Experience

Hey, party people! Welcome back to my blog. It’s been so long since the last update that I practically graduate from Rutgers tomorrow. Okay, not tomorrow - but it blows my mind that the last time I posted was when I committed to RBS, and now I’m months away from receiving my B.S. in Marketing. Crazy, huh?

You blink and the next thing you know you’ve lived through a pandemic, a whole lot of protests, and continued political discourse. Anyway, it hasn’t been all that bad! In the past year, I’ve also had my first professional internship, made the Dean’s List every semester, and even achieved my first 4.0 in college. Yay!

But I digress- one of the best parts of 2021 so far has been the time I’ve spent participating in MLH’s Local Hack Day: Build. In the past week, I’ve joined a bunch of live streams (and set up a Twitch profile), worked on several Devpost projects, and also hosted a few Zoom parties where I got to meet hackers from all over the world and create an MS Paint masterpiece! (check it out below)

Yes, I know… April came and went without two blog posts from me, much less one. I’m starting to think that one blog post a month is more realistic and is what I will shoot for moving forward. (It’s all about adjusting goals, right?)

On that note, I want to use this post to share that I have officially committed to Rutgers - New Brunswick. Starting this Fall, I will be pursuing a B.S. in Marketing with Minors and Concentrations yet to be determined.

If you’re a friend or have been following me for a while, you might remember that I made a similar announcement last year. Well, long story short, things didn’t go as planned… which as the title suggests, is TOTALLY okay.

In fact, it was one of the best things that happened to me. (But more on that in another blog post.)

Hello and welcome back! I’m not sure what happened, but this month totally got away from me and I’ve written 0 of the 2 blog posts that I had promised. So, as consolation, I wanted to share a value packed resource that I hope you will find helpful!

Without further ado, here are Facebook groups that have shaped my freelance career:

New or Deja Vu?

Though it took A LOT longer than I had planned, here it is: my new website! But as the title suggests, some things probably look similar if you've been here before.

But I decided to go for it anyway because as a recovering perfectionist, I recognize that I set impossibly high standards for myself. Not to mention, as a personal blog, this site is supposed to be a reflection of myself (which we all know is a mess, I mean, a work in progress).

Seriously, redesigning and launching this blog was A LOT easier said than done. And I could come up with a list of excuses longer than this post but I’ll refrain from boring you so soon.

It’s been a busy and eventful couple of months during which my to-do list kept changing (and growing).
